About All You Can ET
All You Can ET trains cognitive flexibility through engaging gameplay where you apply rapidly changing rules to feed colorful aliens. This brain-training game strengthens executive functions—the mental processes that help you control behavior, monitor progress, and plan effectively.
Cognitive flexibility, a core component of executive function, involves shifting away from one perspective and adopting a new one. In this game, you'll constantly adapt to fresh rules and unexpected challenges, exercising the mental agility that supports learning and academic performance. Each level introduces new patterns to master, keeping your brain engaged and responsive.
The science behind the app is grounded in rigorous research. Executive functions consist of three interconnected skills: inhibitory control (resisting impulses), task-switching (moving between different mental sets), and updating (holding and revising information). Studies show that strong executive function correlates directly with reading and math performance, long-term academic success, and school readiness. Research has also identified that gaps in executive function development among younger children from under-resourced backgrounds may contribute to achievement disparities—making cognitive training tools valuable for learners of all backgrounds.
Developed by New York University's CREATE lab in partnership with the University of California, Santa Barbara, and The Graduate Center, CUNY, this game combines learning science with interactive design. The app is part of the Smart Suite, a collection of research-backed cognitive training experiences. Published research demonstrates that all you can ET is an effective method for training cognitive flexibility, particularly in adolescents, with benefits that persist and support real-world learning outcomes.
Whether you're looking to sharpen mental agility, support academic readiness, or simply enjoy a challenging puzzle experience, this game offers a scientifically-validated way to build stronger executive functions. Download All You Can ET and start training the cognitive skills that matter most.
